Izaiah Ayala is a 2021 RHP/2B, 3B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Diamond Bar, CA who attends Bishop Amat. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength proportioned to frame, strength to lower half. Righthanded pitcher, begins with a short rock step moving into delivery, hip turn at top of leg lift up above waist, generates momentum throughout windup; smaller arm stroke through the back working to a high three-quarters release point. Strides on line and maintains direction nicely, quick arm and ball jumps on hitters. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, shows occasional cut and commands the pitch down in the zone well. Curveball shows tight spin with 11-5 shape and consistently lands it within the zone. Also mixed a changeup at 74 mph, shows potential, maintains arm speed well with slight sinking life. Varied tempo and looks in windup too while filling the zone. Good student.
