Owen Carapellotti is a 2021 C/1B/3B with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Canton, MI who attends University Of Detroit Jesuit. Large frame with strong, physical build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.54 seconds. Sets up to hit from upright stance with narrow, staggered base; dips back shoulder aggressively into load and swings up, wants to drive the ball into the air, lots of moving parts to loading mechanism that cause timing issues occasionally, real bat speed and strength that play impactfully when square, big power threat to the pull-side. Worked out behind the plate, good athleticism and twitch for size back there, bounces out of crouch and stays balanced and explosive with feet, drives off back hip into throws and gains ground well, clocked up to 76 mph on throws with good inline carry to bag, very good defensive tools. Excellent student.
