Gabriel Watson is a 2022 RHP/C/3B with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Hewitt, TX who attends Midway. Strong compact athletic build. Big side step start to his delivery, low leg raise, swings the gate out front, rotational delivery with plenty of energy at release, 3/4's arm slot with a fast arm coming through. Fastball topped out at 91 mph, worked mostly in the upper 80's, got very consistent cutting action on his fastball due to his delivery and the cut was nasty at times, produced lots of ground balls with his fastball. Threw a hard slider as his second pitch, best at lower velocities when he gets all the way out front with it, big depth at times, got better as he threw it more. Reliever profile with two solid pitches. 6.90 runner in the sixty. Showed his big arm strength well in the outfield in drills. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a rotational swing, aggressive shift into contact, pull line drive contact. Good student. Named to the Fall Top Prospect National Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
