Clay Westbrook is a 2021 RHP/3B, SS with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Klein Oak. Medium to large build with present length and room to fill out as he continues to develop. Primary pitcher, has a shorter arm action from a high three-quarters slot. Conventional motion, mid leg lift, side steps into the leg lift, hands stay neutral until separation. Fastball up to 87 mph, possesses some downward angle to the plate. Solid command of his arsenal, mixes in a 12-to-6 shaped curveball with good depth. Flashes some late bite to the plate. 70 mph straight change with some slight late fade to the plate, secondary pitches show great promise. In the infield, glove works well out in front, moves well for his build, good softness to the glove. Showcases an ability to be accurate across the diamond from multiple slots. At the plate, is a switch hitter with a narrow and slightly open stance. Simple stride trigger, simple approach overall from both sides. Flat barrel plane through the zone. Middle of the field approach.
