Tyler Futrell is a 2020 C/SS with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Hertford, NC who attends Perquimans County HS. Athletic build with some present strength and room for more. 7.29 runner, sets up well behind the plate with lots of flexibility, receives the ball smoothly, gains ground well with a smooth exchange, very accurate throws, 1.95 in drills with game actions, tends to jump into his set late during games. Right handed hitter, hits from an upright wide base with a back top load, rotational upper body swing that is short and direct to the ball, hard middle of the field contact with some gap to gap power, has some present bat speed with more to come. Well rounded athletic player who should keep improving. Good student.
