Joseph Puerschner is a 2019 RHP/OF, 1B with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Colonia, NJ who attends Bishop George Ahr. Medium frame with a strong build. Primary right handed pitcher with a side step to medium leg lift delivery. Will worked from the stretch as well. Created coil over back leg at gather and utilized drop and drive lower half actions to the plate. Lands in line with front side and carries momentum well. Loose arm circle at separation and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Fastball generated natural cut out of hand to glove side in the mid 60's to low 70's, topped at 71 miles per hour. Curveball had 10/5 shape with loose spin and some sweep to glove side in the upper 50's. Tends to slow arm speed slightly with breaking ball offering. Looked to challenge hitters while showing developing feel for the zone. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing clean, footwork while closing to the baseball. Funnels to side and worked through exchange with loose actions. Released from a lower three-quarters arm slot generating softer carry to the bag at 72 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a balanced, slightly open stance. Utilized a linear barrel plane and showed good feel through the zone. Consistently worked between the gaps, but flashed the barrel control t o work t o all fields as well.
