Phoenix Nelson is a 2022 SS/RHP, 3B, UT with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends Marietta. He ran a 7.08 second sixty. A primary shortstop with a larger build showing room still to fill as he continues to add strength. On the infield he breaks down under-control as he receives the ball with soft hands working out front, his throws were accurate across the diamond with carry at 82 mph. On the mound he worked from the stretch only with a leg lift above the belt and full arm action working to a high three-quarters arm slot, he sat 77-79 mph with his fastball that showed effective arm side run in his quick outing. Right-handed hitter, starts with a narrow base and low hands, the barrel works direct to the ball with some strength in the hands as he worked best to the middle of the field when on time. Very good student.
