Danny Suarez is a 2021 RHP/1B with a 6-5 185 lb. frame from Trabuco Canyon, CA who attends Trabuco Hills. Extra-large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, room to fill throughout moving forward. Starts from the windup with a high leg lift that reaches up past the belt. Has a slight gather on the back side over the rubber and keeps good, consistent timing throughout the delivery. Has a long arm action and releases from high, three-quarter slot. Fastball comes out of the hand free and easy at 85-89 miles per hour, and the pitch really takes off through the zone due to the free and easy whip in the arm. Shows feel to spin a mid-70s curveball with 11-5 shape, tunneling well with similar plane and generating late bite through the zone. Shows good control of the slider at 81 miles per, showcasing tight and sharp break to both sides of the plate. Also shows a change-up with short fade at 80 miles per hour. Generates plenty of swings and misses with the four-pitch mix and still has plenty of projectability moving forward. Verbal commitment to UC Irvine. Good student.
