Trip Ancheta is a 2024 RHP/2B, 3B, SS, MIF, OF, UT with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Clyde, TX who attends Clyde. Recorded a 7.89 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium frame with a high waist and long levers. Plenty of room to fill out and add strength. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked from an abbreviated windup with a high leg lift and good length out to foot strike. Creates some deception due to moving parts associated with his delivery. Fastball worked in the mid-80s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 87 mph from a three-quarters arm slot. Showed developing command of the strike zone that will continue to improve with minor refinements mechanically. Mixed in slurve shaped breaking ball that varied in shape and showed best when thrown with both horizontal and vertical tilt. Flashed changeup as third secondary offering that is still in the developmental stages, but shows power fade when in-sync. Secondary infielder that incorporates deliberate footwork to field out in front, while showing good lateral range to either side. Displayed soft hands and the ability to change arm angles when necessary. Recorded arm strength up to 81 mph across the diamond during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wider base with deep arm bar and toe-tap trigger. Middle-of-the field approach with slightly lofted swing path and some feel for the barrel. Long levers allow for some leverage to be created out in front. Athletic prospect with some quick twitch and tons of projection remaining. Good Student.
