Matthew Mariano is a 2021 RHP with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Clifton Park, NY who attends Shenendehowa. Large, athletic frame with broadness to shoulders and present strength to lower half. Primary righthanded pitcher, side step at start of delivery moving into a high leg lift; compact arm action with a tight release form a high three-quarters release point. Present arm speed through the back, ball jumps out of hand, fastball topped out at 87 mph and generates some plane, mostly true in life. Up-tempo delivery, drives down the mound well and maintains velocity out of the stretch, Tends to slow arm at release of curveball, shows 11-5 shape when on top up to 75 mph. Named to Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List. Good student.
