Max McCallum is a 2021 OF/LHP with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Aurora, IL who attends Metea Valley. Long, athletic build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.32 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary outfielder. Displayed athletic actions working to and through the ball while fielding the ball to the side with confident glove actions. Displayed clean transfers into throws with good arm strength and accurate carry to the bases topping out at 76 mph from the outfield. Left handed hitter. Employs a spread slightly open stance with a small stride into weight shift. Displayed a rotational approach looking to drive the ball to the pull side. Displayed good barrel control creating consistently driven line drive contact throughout batting practice and games. Also pitched at the event. Employs a small side step to belt high leg lift staying slightly flexed at gather going to drop and drive actions down the mound landing online with the plate and staying online through finish. Flashed a loose arm action in the back going to a lower three-quarter arm slot with good arm speed. Features a fastball with good feel for the zone and late lefty run up to 73 mph to go along with a 1/7 breaking ball with good depth at 60 mph. Great student.
