Brayden Simmons is a 2023 SS/RHP, MIF, OF with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from Keller, TX who attends Keller. Recorded a 7.01 second sixty yard dash time. Large frame with a long and lanky build and tons of room to fill, good physical projection. Primary shortstop with solid footwork and loose actions, attacks the ball with good intent and showed some lateral range. Long arm action and gather, showed present arm strength across at 85 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher, high intent thrower who works exclusively from the stretch. Stays in line well and shows present body control, has very explosive actions on the mound. Really sinks into the back hip, has a short arm action with a quick arm. Curveball is decently sharp, has cut and downer action, still developing feel for it. Will need to refine his release point and work on keeping the operation repeatable. Projects as a bullpen arm currently, will improve with further development of his command and secondaries. Plenty of things to like and has a bright future on the mound moving forward. Right-handed hitter with a wide base and a low hand and back elbow set, utilizes a leg lift trigger. Smooth operation and good-looking swing overall, has some rhythm to his movements. Has some pop to the pull side when on time and squared, will continue to improve his consistently. Intriguing athlete with a projectable frame and present body control. Great student. Named to the 2021 Lone Star Showcase Top Prospect List.
