Mark Schroeder is a 2007 RHP/IF with a 5'10'', 160 lb. frame from Andover MN, who attends Totino Grace HS. He has a medium frame with a strong lower half. Schroeder throws from a high 3/4's release point from a deliberate delivery. He tends to dip his back shoulder during his take away, which can cause his arm trouble catching up. He does a good job of hiding the ball from the hitters and they didn't seem to see the ball very well. Schroeder's fastball was 83-85 mph with some tailing action. His best pitch was a 72 mph curveball that had hard downer bit at times and that he had very good command over. Schroeder also threw a couple of pretty good running change ups. He mixed up his pitches and kept hitters off balance. We've heard that Schroeder has been throwing in the upper 80's this fall. If he can do that with the qualitiy of his off speed pitches and his ability to throw strikes, he moves up to a different level. Schroeder is also a good student.
