Ethan Chavez is a 2024 RHP/2B with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Maricopa, AZ who attends Maricopa. Features a medium build with some strength present. Throws exclusively out of the stretch. Gets down the mound well using tall and fall mechanics. Compact arm actions hides the ball well into a 3/4 slot release. Has solid arm speed present. Fastball sat 80-83 mph (2210 rpm) with ride through the zone. Offering can get on hitters quickly and generate whiffs at the top of the zone. Curveball at 70-74 mph shows quality 12-6 action. Spins the offering well, showing spin rates over 2400 rpm. Can create late bite with tight action, allowing for swing and misses when in the zone. Offering showed the ability to get uncomfortable swings often. Still developing consistent command of both offerings but can shut down a lineup when strikes are being thrown. Very good student.
