Gavin Wang is a 2023 RHP with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Scotch Plains, NJ who attends The Pingry. Medium, athletic build with strong lower half and room to physically mature. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch in this look. Incorporates belt high leg lift into balance and good usage of his lower half down the slope, repeating his delivery effectively and repeatedly. Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 80s for the duration of his outing from a three-quarters slot. Proficient strike thrower with advanced command of the strike zone, manipulating all four quadrants efficiently throughout. Mixed in true swing-and-miss breaking ball that generated tons of empty swings. Breaking ball has true high spin profile with tons of vertical depth and some horizontal tilt to it. Will only continue to improve with additional strength and should see continued velocity spikes as it happens. Significant upside on the mound. Good Student.
