Zach Boden is a 2024 1B/RHP, 3B with a 6-4 170 lb. frame from Seattle, WA who attends Seattle Preparatory School. Extra Large frame long and projectable in the build. 7.84 60-yd. From first base, used a low slinging slot to make accurate throws to bags. Hips work well getting him to work in space and allowing the glove to react to hops; showed a sound understanding of his skills for the position with upside available. Offensively starts from an even base, slightly squatted and keeping the back elbow high. Loads through the shoulders with hands staying back as he controls the frame on the forward move. Quick fire of the bat getting on plane with the hands and showing feel for the barrel. As he learns to let the body rotate more into contact, the loft and power should show up out of the frame more consistently. From the mound, the hands start at the chin before going down to the waist and staying as he uses a compact stride down the mound. Back leg bend early with a mid-waist knee allowing the arm to get out early and hang before finding the 3/4 slot. Fastball was able to run and cut to different sides of the plate, but the command of the pitch will need to improve for best success. Curveball showed rolling depth in the overhand downer action. Skills on the mound are there, but will need to improve overall strength for him to make improvements.
