Kai Smith is a 2022 SS/RHP/IF with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Key West, FL who attends Key West HS. Recorded a 7.52 second 60-yard dash time. Lean build with a wiry frame and lots of room to add strength and fill out physically. Primary shortstop with good hands and the arm works well. Some effort at release with good accuracy across and arm strength recorded up to 82 mph. Athleticism to his movements and is a fluid mover. Right-handed hitter with a narrow base, open stance, high hand set, and a high back elbow. Line drive plane and looks to get out in front. Middle of the field approach with a later hand drop in the load. Has some tools and ability to work with just needs to simplify mechanics at the plate. Tremendous student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
