Connor Shimek is a 2021 OF with a 6-2 172 lb. frame from New Philadelphia, OH who attends New Philadelphia. Large frame with a lean, athletic build showing some room to still fill out physically. Ran a 7.28 second sixty yard dash. Primary Outfielder, great first step as he bounced around the outfield with twitch showing. Gathers the baseball with two hands out front and then works into a shuffle. Transfers and then shows an uphill release. Threw it 79 mph during drills. Right-Handed Hitter, starting from an open, balanced stance with a high back elbow. Strength in the hands as he generates easy bat whip through the zone. Proved to have some gap to gap strength. Found barrels consistently in game action while proving to be a solid baserunner as well. Named to Ohio Valley Showcase Top Prospect List.
