Luke Borgmeier is a 2021 RHP/1B with a 6-2 192 lb. frame from Salt Lake City, UT who attends Judge Memorial Catholic. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran an 8.24 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, worked exclusively out of the stretch, upper body dominant release and can continue to incorporate additional lower half, shorter arm stroke through the back working to a high three-quarters release point. Generates plane to fastball, topped out at 81 mph with occasional life to arm side, worked down in the zone and induced weak ground ball contact. Curveball shows 11-5 shape with short depth and late downward action, feel to spin and land it for strikes consistently; also flashed a changeup with nice differential, can incorporate more often. Similar arm action at first base, developing actions, fields the ball out front, shows carry on throws. Righthanded hitter, begins with a taller and slightly open stance with a high hand set and back elbow in the box; utilizes a simple load at the plate. Short stroke through the zone, gets downward at times, keeps hands inside the baseball and can generate more jump at point of contact with extension out front. Very good student.
