2024 Sunshine South Showcase (Tues-Wed)
Mason Hernandez is a 2025 SS/C/UT with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from The Woodlands, TX who attends The Woodlands. Wiry young build with lots of room to get stronger. 7.58 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, has some footwork and foot quickness and works low to the ground, has lateral range, has a clean transition and changes slots comfortably, has polished middle infield actions. Also catches and has potential there if he can get stronger, receives the ball well and has quick feet and a clean release, arm strength doesn't play as well behind the plate at present. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance with a small leg raise trigger, barrel tilt start, has good rhythm and looseness in his hands and some quickness getting the barrel into the zone, worked gap to gap and handled the barrel well. Still has plenty of physical projection as a hitter and as an athlete. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
