Preston Fondren is a 2022 C/3B with a 5-8 175 lb. frame from Granite Bay, CA who attends Granite Bay. Medium frame with a sturdy build showing a strong lower half. Ran a 7.23 second sixty yard dash. Primary Catcher, sitting down in his stance athletically as he proved to be flexible in the lower half. Received the baseball with soft hands proving to have some feel for framing the baseball. Gains ground on throw downs as he transfers with urgency. Accurate throws to the bag as he recorded a pop time of 2.08 seconds. Fundamentally sound as he projects well behind the dish going forward. Right-Handed Hitter, starting low in his stance and even. Sinks into load before showing a compact, uphill swing path. Impacted the baseball with authority as he proved he could drive it deep to the pull-side. Also showcased feel for driving it into the opposite field gap.
