Luke Barch is a 2024 C/RHP/IF with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Eagle River, AK who attends Eagle River. Smaller young build with lots of time and room to fill out and get stronger. 7.99 runner in the sixty. Has good quickness behind the plate on defense and gets out of his crouch aggressively, active feet, has a quick exchange on his throws and makes accurate throws, has some arm strength for his size and age. Projects well defensively. Right handed hitter, has a small weight shift to his front side, fires his hands well, tends to get out front and off balance at times, middle of the field line drive contact. Also pitched, high leg raise delivery, mechanics are smooth and fluid, long and loose arm action. Fastball topped out at 75 mph, slider was a good pitch for him with good bite and some sweeping depth, threw strikes with both pitches. Good young athlete with a well balanced skill set who will improve in proportion with how much he grows and gets stronger. Very good student.
