Gavin Lass is a 2022 OF/RHP with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends James Madison. Medium frame with room to fill as he develops, posted a 6.95 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary outfielder, is aggressive to the baseball and reads hops well upon approach. Showcases solid mechanics to and through his fielding motion. Good accurate throws to all bags with a textbook longer outfield arm action. On the mound, has a shorter arm action from a three-quarters to high three-quarters arm slot. Hides the ball well into separation and stays tall throughout his motion. Lives around the zone with his 75-77 mph and mixes in an 11-to-5 shaped curveball with a larger overall shape. At the plate, uses an upright and slightly open stance with a mid leg kick trigger. Slight hand coil into his load generates some whip through the zone. Flat barrel plane with present strength to his pull side. Great student in the classroom as well.
