Colt Ward is a 2028 C/1B/3B with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Wauseon, OH. Medium, square shouldered frame with some present strength on build, room to grow and develop moving forward. Ran an 8.93 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, turned start behind the plate in drills, does a nice job of gaining ground with footwork coming out of crouch, vocal leader behind the plate, long and loose arm action throws down to second base with lots of accuracy and repeats actions well. Left-handed hitter, begins with a medium stance and a high back elbow at the plate; has pre-pitch movement with barrel tilt at start, coils front hip into load and utilizes a long and loose path through the zone. Swings with intent and looks to create lift to the pull side, shows a feel for the barrel, strength coming off will continue to come along. Excellent student.
