Carter (Cj) Lake is a 2026 3B/RHP with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from St. Louis, MO who attends Oakville Sr. Works from a lean, high-waisted frame with long levers. Both strength and athleticism are present with plenty of projection remaining. Primary third baseman, shows the glove early and works through the baseball cleanly. Funnels it smoothly, covering ground well and delivering accurate throws across the diamond. Releases the ball from a low and whippy arm slot. Recorded arm strength up to 87 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher, utilizes a full wind-up delivery with a big side step into a coiled leg lift just above the belt. Longer takeaway through the back that creates deception as he works into a three-quarters release. Generates whip to the arm as he extends and moves down the slope. Fastball was pretty straight with some life out of the hand, ultimately topping out at 91 mph with spin up to 2168 rpm. The heater got on hitters quickly in live action, inducing multiple uncomfortable swings and misses. Mixed in a mid-70s slider that showed gradual horizontal movement along the axis with a touch of late depth. Projects for an uptick in velocity as he continues to add strength to his frame. Right-handed hitter, starts in a narrow, slightly closed stance with a low back elbow and loose, low hand set-up. Utilizes a toe-tap trigger for timing prior to working into a level bat path. Maintains posture over the baseball and scissor kicks through the finish. Creates tons of strength at the point of contact with loud impact to both gaps. Showcased the ability to work the entire diamond. Recorded an exit velocity of 94 mph. Ran a 7.19 sixty-yard dash. Great student. Named to the 2024 National Indoor (Saturday-Wentzville) Top Prospect List.
