Alex Conover is a 2023 C/RHP/IF with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Tuttle, OK who attends Tuttle. Recorded a 7.50 second 60 yard dash time. Large frame with a lean and athletic build, obvious strength present, body projects well moving forward. Primary catcher with a higher set up and an extremely quick transfer and release. Replaces his feet with limited ground gained on the footwork, tends to stand straight up to throw. Has much more arm strength in the tank, showed flexibility in the lower half and great athleticism while making plays in the games. Also worked out at shortstop, showed soft hands with great feel for the glove, has a sense of urgency when getting the ball out of his hand. Very athletic and twitchy actions in the infield, glides to the ball with smooth footwork, can play both positions at a high level. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a low effort delivery, has significant tailing action to the fastball, missed some bats and challenged up in the zone. Flashed a breaking ball with wide, slurvy shape and a changeup with good tailing action. Left-handed hitter with a narrow stance and slightly closed base. Has present quickness in the hands, made consistent, hard contact, swings on an lofted plane and shows a pull side approach. Great student.
