Dylan Mercado is a 2029 3B/RHP/UT with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Cypress Woods. Large, athletic frame with broadness to shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 7.42 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, active footwork in the dirt with a quick first step, comes through the baseball well and shows clean, repeatable actions, nice range to either side, longer arm stroke with accuracy on throws across the diamond. Also pitched, mid-chest knee lift at start of delivery, work with pace and length coming down the mound. Present arm speed with some effort at release, up to 81 mph, best when extended out front to generate some riding life. Showed slurve shape to breaker up to 71 mph, plays well off of fastball. Right-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and a high back elbow; loads hands back and incorporates lower half well. Excellent rhythm throughout swing, generates lots of whip to the barrel head and repeats swing well. Works to the middle of the field with real impact and more strength to come, consistent feel for the barrel. Excellent student. Named to the 2024 13u Select Festival.
