Stephen (Drew) Rocha is a 2027 RHP/1B/OF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Dickinson, TX, who attends Lutheran South Academy. A taller and slender frame with a lean build. Ran a 7.67 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher who had slower and more deliberate actions working down the slope. He has a very controlled operation with a leg lift up to the belt that can be a little slower and drawn out. He breaks to move down the mound with throws from a higher slot, nearly over the top. He carries the frontside and peels off a bit slightly as he works through release. The fastball has some angle to it with a good downhill angle to it and some occasional arm-side run. He also showed a curveball with 12-6 shape and had some 11-5 shape to it at times. Uber efficient outing. Threw 2 and 1/3 innings with a punchout to his credit. He's a right-handed hitter who has a right-handed hitter with a small stride forward into contact. He has higher set hands and the back elbow up with a bent knee start. It's a bigger leg lift into the smaller stride. He was able to stay inside the ball and work through it. He drove the ball on a line to the middle of the field. He was able to work pull-side as well. Produced an 81 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Also worked out as an outfielder, charging the ball hard and fielding it off to the side. He was able to get the glove down to field it and work into throws well. Kept his throws accurate at 83 mph. He takes longer strides to the ball and shuffles into the throw with good carry as he works through release. Exceptional student.
