2023 New York Indoor Showcase (Sunday)
Jack Pfeifer is a 2026 RHP/2B/3B with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Plainview, NY who attends Chaminade. Medium frame with wiry muscularity and a lot of time to add size. Some nice twitch to his actions, especially for a young athlete. Primary position RHP, working exclusively from the stretch and using a very controlled leg lift to mid-belly. Breaks hands into clean inline path as he accelerates through a high 3/4 arm angle. Shorter overall arm circle but he makes it work and fills up the zone. FB up to 74 mph with clean backspin rotation and projects to have good ride longterm. CB with some sweeping action that needs some velocity but the shape and spin will play. Contact deadening spin on his CH that play nicely off his fastball. Reps on the IF as well, with basic fundamentals and making plays. Moving alright through his angles and using longer actions as he built throws up to 74 mph across the diamond. RHH working form a crouched stance and wrapped, tight handset. Works off his backside but there is a lot left in his lower-half to build additional power. Was consistent and accurate with the barrel. Once he integrates the lower-body more effectively there should be a significant jump in power. Tremendous student as well.
