Jack Casey is a 2025 SS/RHP, 2B, OF with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Hiawatha, IA who attends Xavier. Recorded a 6.97 second sixty yard dash time. Medium frame with a lean build and room to fill. Primary shortstop, feet move well and had some bounce, softer hands with good glove work. Clean funnel to the middle of the body. Secondary outfielder, fields one-handed off the front foot with a shorter arm circle and some carry to the throws. Generates momentum with some zip on release and accuracy to the plate. Also threw off the mound. The right-handed pitcher works from a chest-high leg kick and a medium length stride down the mound. Shorter arm action that keeps the arm in line as it comes through from a three- quarter arm slot. Ran the fastball up to 72 (1873 RPM) with late life and occasional cutting action. Showed a 11-5 shaped curveball (1662 RPM) that he tunneled well, confident in pitch throwing it in any count. Worked well on inner half of plate before dropping the curveball in for strikes. Got in on hitters hands getting weak contact and broke a bat. Right-handed hitter, starts from an even base, upright stance, utilizes a leg lift stride. High hands and high back elbow set position. Quick bat at times with a flatter bat path producing line-drives with some carry to the pull-side and the middle-of-the-field. Contact over power in the swing with a solid approach and some barrel feel early in the round. Well-rounded player with a good ceiling. Great student.
