Nyan Hayes is a 2021 MIF/OF with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from New Orleans, LA who attends John Curtis HS. A gifted and athletic player, Nyan shows advanced skill in all areas of his game. His talent unquestionably projects to the next level. In addition to his obvious talents on the diamond, Nyan is a recognized scholar who achieves at the highest levels in the classroom. He ran a very impressive 6.95 60 yard dash. A primary middle infielder, Nyan shows a great affinity for reading the ball off the bat. He uses his ultra quick feet to position routinely and plays through the fielding action with a calm presence. He never appears rattled. His glove is soft and sure. He gathers well and funnels to a solid and quick transition. His powerful arm then comes into play. His 88 mph throwing velocity turned heads. His throws show low plane and are firm all the way to the target. His impressive tosses are highly accurate. He shows elite ability on the infield. He is almost as talented in the outfield. He is a tad more deliberate, but, he again, reads the ball well and plays with momentum through the fielding action. His throwing operation is the same and his 86 mph velo, allows for his throws to be on target consistently. At the plate, Nyan has an advanced feel for his offensive game. His relaxed and balanced stance allow for his quick twitch muscles to engage. He triggers quickly and his strong hands and flatter bat plane allow a free and easy path to the ball. He is quick and quiet and the ball jumps off his barrel. Although power production is not a big part of his current game, Nyan has the swing mechanics that will allow him to add that final piece to his game. He just needs to play a little more at the advanced level and mature a tick more physically. He is the complete package. He has all the present tools to be a sound, if not an elite player at the next level.
