Connor McCloskey is a 2024 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Yardley, PA who attends Pennsbury. Recorded a 5.44 second forty-yard dash time. Long, lean frame with a slender build and plenty of room to add strength. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with a high leg lift into balance and longer stride out to foot strike. Incorporates good hip drive down the slope, while generating extension out in front. Fastball worked in the upper-70s for the majority of his outing and topped out at 80 mph from an over-the-top arm slot. Mixed in sharp 11-5 shaped curveball for strikes and replicated changeup as his go-to secondary offering, as both show immense promise and generate tons of swings-and-misses presently. Will continue to improve as he physically matures and adds strength. Secondary first baseman with a developing defensive skill set. Displayed deliberate footwork into the fielding process, while fielding slightly deep due to bending at the waist to field and showed some feel around the bag on his turns to throw. Recorded arm strength up to 74 mph across the diamond during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and toe-tap trigger. Incorporates rotational lower half mechanics to get things going and displayed some compact hand speed. Leveraged stroke with slightly uphill swing path and fairly consistent bat-to-ball skills. Exhibits gap-to-gap power potential when on-time and in-sync, will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Excellent Student.
