John Handy is a 2024 C/MIF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Auburn, CA who attends Placer. Medium frame with a lean, athletic type build showing plenty of fast twitch muscle. Ran a 7.10 second sixty yard dash. Primary Catcher, sitting down in his stance while athletic in his legs. Proved to have feel for glove work as he received it with soft hands. Fundamental in his footwork and did a good job gaining ground on throw downs. Quick catch and release skills as he was accurate to the bag. Recorded a pop time of 2.00 seconds. Feel for the position showing and projects here going forward. Right-Handed Hitter, starting balanced with a quiet approach. Loads slightly down before striding out. Does a good job firing the hips as he threw hands at the baseball. Stayed linear through the zone as he proved he could impact the baseball out front. Pull-side power and drove it into the gaps with ease. Outstanding Student.
