Connor Janik is a 2022 3B/C with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Frankfort, IL who attends Peotone. He ran a 7.40 second sixty. A primary third baseman with a medium build showing some present strength in the upper half. On the infield he he has okay lateral quickness fielding the ball out front, he does a nice job getting rid of the ball with a short arm action and quick release with average arm strength. Behind the plate he gets to a taller throwing position as the gains ground into his throws, he showed good carry with accuracy down to second base while recording a 2.21 second pop time. Right-handed hitter, starts with a narrow base, uses a hanging leg lift trigger with a slight drift forward in the front side, the barrel works short and direct to the baseball spraying the ball mostly to the opposite field on a line, he will create better carry as he gets more extension through contact. Excellent student.
