Sal Gagliano is a 2026 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Patrick Henry. Features a taller, lean and athletic build that projects. In the INF, showed strong defensive actions. Footwork and glovework certainly look to stick up the middle. Light feet show quickness and play in rhythm when working through the baseball. Hands are soft/clean at reception with a quick funnel and transfer that got throws out in a hurry. Used a shorter AA that displayed above avg. strength across with accuracy from multiple slots/angles. At the plate, sits with a wider base slightly pre-engaged with backside. Smaller leg lift trigger gets him moving forward. Hands work with a more direct/steep to the baseball. Had trouble with deeper contact points producing several GBs but when he caught it out front he flashed some impact into the gaps. On the mound, side steps into a belt-high knee lift with some tuck. Smaller drop in driveleg. Hand-lead path out the glove that gets up early and works to an over the top slot. Ran the FB up to 87 that flashed some running action. Mixed in a bigger 12-6 breaker in the low 70s that had quality depth. Tremendous student.
