Mikael Castor is a 2025 C/RHP/1B/OF with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Alamo, TX who attends PSJA. Primary catcher, there are some actions to tighten up but has plenty of time to mature and build the strength and makes it work. Started staggered receiving the ball soft, showed a smooth transfer with a quick release and clean short arm action. Overall young actions and developing footworks flashes plenty more forward force and velocity to offer as the lower half builds. Worked the outfield, stays in his legs to approach and did a good job playing below the ball presenting good glove skills. Chops the footwork up slightly to field breaking momentum through the throw. Has a uphill release and can let the body fall off-line through the bag, has some pieces to put together as the mechanics mature. Also pitched, the right hander flashed some versatility in his game executing an inning of relief. Delivery was very quiet and repeatable with little use of the lower. Works down the mound easy not looking to overthrow from a high 3/4 arm slot. Can occasionally get on the side of the ball to release and spun some fastballs with late cut action. Tossed in a breaking ball that held loose spin, but primarily stuck with the fastball. Right handed hitter, starts with an open stance and utilizes a high leg lift trigger and worked the middle and pull-side at his best. Showed a loose swing that is rotational through the zone and disconnects the hands. Does not generate maximum impact cutting off the barrel at contact. Plenty to build on as he progresses his tools.
