Gerardo Gutierrez is a 2025 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-4 125 lb. frame from Bakersfield, CA who attends Ridgeview. Recorded a 8.73 second 60 yard dash time. Smaller frame with plenty of physical development to come. Primary shortstop, fields out in front with a funnel to the center of the body, gets into position well. Some footwork present, shows developing feel for the glove, foot speed and arm strength will improve with time. Secondary right-handed pitcher, stays in line with the plate, curveball with 11-5 shape. Clean and repeatable delivery overall, curveball and changeup have the right shape and he throws them well, movement will increase has he throws harder. Has an idea on the mound, will improve as he continues to work and grow. Right-handed hitter with a narrow stance and high hand and back elbow set, developing bat speed. Small leg lift trigger, downward bat path and long finish, timing will improve with added repetitions. Young prospect that has a good base of fundamentals, will continue to progress as he gains strength and develops physically. Great student.
