Dan Zailskas is a 2006 middle infielder from Milton Academy in Marshfield, MA, with a 6'1", 185 lb. frame that has good present strength. He ran the 60 in 7.27 and threw 79 mph during infield drills. Zailskas has good range and footwork in the field and solid actions to the ball. He could soften his hands a bit and that and he overall arm strength could leave him at third base in the future. Zailskas is a switch-hitter with a sound fundamental approach from both sides of the plate. He has a wide stance with no stride to the ball and good overall balance. He loads well and creates good bat speed on a line drive swing plane. Zailaskis has a bit better bat speed from the right side if anything but it's pretty equal. He has a high contact approach that should lead to a high batting average and some gap to gap power. Zailskas is a smart player with good instincts who is going to play to the top of his physical ability. He's also an outstanding student with his eye on some of the top academic institutions in the country.
