Alonso Rivera is a 2024 SS/ with a 5-4 125 lb. frame from Vallejo, CA. Medium frame with a young, lean build showing room to fill out in the future. Ran a 7.57 second sixty yard dash. Primary Shortstop, fundamental in his footwork as he worked around the baseball smoothly. Gathers with confidence and then worked into an urgent release. Accurate arm from multiple slots as he threw it 66 mph. Feel for the position showing as he projects well here. Will make a big jump with a physical strength gain. Right-Handed Hitter, starting balanced and slightly open with the front side. Works into a toe tap trigger as he drifts into stride. Longer swing path as he stays linear through the zone while looking to drive it back up the middle. Found the barrel and will again, make a jump when he fills out physically as he was mechanically sound in the swing. Outstanding Student.
