Aaron Wu is a 2027 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Short Hills, NJ who attends The Pingry. Medium, compact build with plenty of room and time to add more strength. Primary shortstop, attacks the baseball with urgency and moves well through it. Has plenty of lateral range to both sides with softness in the hands. Stands up a bit and takes an extra step during the transfer phase. Releases the baseball from a lower slot. Recorded arm strength up to 81 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher, worked exclusively from the stretch with the hands starting at the belt. Gets into his back-side and accelerates well down the slope as he releases the ball from a low three-quarters slot. Fastball showed arm-side run, ultimately peaking at 78 mph. Mixed in a tight two-plane breaking ball with a developing spin profile. Right-handed hitter, starts in an open stance with a high hand set-up and high back elbow. Utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger for timing before working into a line drive stroke. Keeps his hands inside the baseball and delivers the barrel on-time. Produced consistent contact to the middle of the field during batting practice. Projects for more power with additional strength. Posted an exit velocity of 82 mph. Ran a 7.34 sixty-yard dash.
