Devon Castaneda is a 2025 SS/RHP/UT with a 5-10 186 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Spring. Primary SS with a medium sized frame. Works around the ball well with a clean 2-hand gather and funnel to chest. Has quick feet and showed good lateral range with tentative footwork. Showed a quick transfer and release and made timely throws from a standard slot. Was up to 80 from the infield. Also played outfield working through the ball well with some intent. Showed good carry and accuracy behind his throws. Fielded it out front to his side with a one hand gather and shuffles a bit before getting it out. Definitely has an idea out there fundamentally speaking. Ran a 7.33 sixty. Also pitching working up to 79 off the bump. Throws from a high 3/4 slot and works downhill well. Relied heavily on fastball and located around the zone well. Showed good feel to spin with a breaker that he could land at times. Right-handed hitter with an even and balanced base with a high handset. Swings uphill a bit with a strong set of hands. Has legitimate impact strength when on plane and on time. Power should project pretty well here. Excellent Student.
