Owen Mescall is a 2028 OF/2B with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Irvine, CA who attends Orange Lutheran. Features a medium-sized build with some present lean athleticism. Ran a 6.97 60-yd dash. In the OF, his athleticism showed where he worked with noticeable quickness and intent to and through a clean/out-front reception. A bit of a regather post-reception with a big crow hop that helped him build momentum into his throws. Showed above avg. arm strength for his level where he got off uphill throws with some carry but with just avg. accuracy. At the plate, he sits in a wider base with lower set hands. Uses a toe tap trigger as the hands load the barrel into a slight tip at launch. Turns the barrel with some early length but shows quality bat speed which helped him get the barrel on-time and out front with a flatter path. Drove several hard LDs through the middle of the field. Gets off backside well while still being able to stay behind it and create leverage.
