Phayden Carter is a 2026 C/SS/OF with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Crosby, TX who attends Crosby. Primary Catcher with a lean and athletic build. Works out of the crouch and pops up quickly with a clean transfer and release and shorter arm action. Was accurate to the bag with good strength behind his throws. Recorded a 2.03 pop time. Also played outfield while taking good angles to the ball and working through it well. Gets it out quick and made throws on a line with good carry behind them. Was up to 82 from the outfield. Showed good actions from the infield as well with good lateral range. Fielded it cleanly with a clean gather and funnel into a quick transfer and release. Gets it out at a good pace and made throws with accuracy. Also ran a 7.20 sixty. Right-handed hitter with a wider base. Has a tight starting handset with some barrel wrap. Uses a quick leg lift and stride for timing. Could impact it to pull when on plane. Will need to be more consistent with his swing path moving forward.
