KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Afternoon Session
Katelyn Jarzobski is a 5'6, class of 2024, 1B/OF from Omaha, NE who attends Millard North HS. Katelyn is a young, up and coming player who has a solid foundation and approach based on a fundamental ability that should allow her to grow her game over the next few years of HS and travel ball. She ran a 3.34 20-yard dash with a 1.18 5-yard split. A primary first baseman, Katelyn plays this all important position with ease of actions. She positions well and her soft, sure glove plays. Her 50-mph arm is certainly playable and her throws are routinely accurate. While not a finished product at 1B, Katelyn absolutely has the right idea about the position. She also took a turn in the outfield. She reads the ball off the bat well and positions commendably. She plays to and through the fielding action well. She fields two-handed, infielder like, and this action at this point in her career, works well for her. Her 49-mph throws are routinely accurate. Right idea! At the plate, this RHH shows a balanced and fairly closed stance at the ready. She has a toe tap trigger as she loads. She drives the barrel through contact well and has a gap-to-gap swing path. When on time and on plane, she can impact the ball. Katelyn has a firm grasp on her current abilities and plays well within those. Her positive body language says that softball is important to her. Katelyn's energy level and consistent effort are infectious. With a dedication to the details and a commitment to the weight room to add strength and agility, Katelyn's promising game should give her the opportunity to play at the next level!
