2022 Fall Midwest Workout Showcase
Owen Cook is a 2023 RHP/3B, SS with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Montezuma, IA who attends Montezuma. He has a tall frame with a strong, athletic build. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.15 seconds. Primary right-handed pitcher that starts in a square stance on the mound and uses a small rocker step to start his delivery. He features a knee to chest leg kick and accelerates down the mound well. He fills the zone up with his fastball and features two distinct breaking pitches. HIs curveball has 12-6 shape with solid depth while his slider features more horizontal break. He has clean actions on the mound that allow him to consistently throw all three pitches for strikes. Secondary third baseman that attacks the ball with shorter steps and makes the routine plays easily. He showed nice carry and accuracy on his throws across the infield. Right-handed hitter that starts with an open stance and uses a toe tap trigger for timing. He has a physical swing and creates nice carry on his line drives when he makes contact out in front of the plate. Excellent student.
