Jay Tooker is a 2024 RHP/3B, OF with a 6-2 145 lb. frame from Roseville, CA who attends Roseville. Ran a 7.74 second sixty. Primary right-handed pitcher with a long skinny build. Starts with a side step on the mound tucking the upper half at the top of the leg lift to the belt. The arm works long out of the glove up to a hight three-quarters arm slot with the fastball playing pretty true at 73-76 mph. The changeup has goo hand speed with occasional fading action at 70 mph while the curveball showed 11-5 shape with young spin traits that will develop with more intent. Breaks down with choppy steps on his approach in the outfield transferring and gathering with a shuffle in the throws with a lower release point showing average arm strength. Stops his momentum to receiving the ball on the infield before shuffling into the throws showing the same arm strength with some accuracy across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, starts slightly open using a toe tap trigger to get back to even. Gets rational through the hitting zone but has the bat speed to still get he bat head out front with a linear path creating line drive contact. Very good student.
