Seungmin Song is a 2024 C/RHP, 3B with a 6-0 198 lb. frame from Chesterfield, MO who attends Parkway Central. A larger frame with strength present. Has a physical build. Ran a 7.35 60-yard dash. Right-handed pitcher who had a hand-over-head delivery from the wind-up with a side-step, showing deliberate actions. Showed clean actions as he moved down the mound with a big leg lift up to his chest with athletic movements down the mound. He showed some flexibility in his actions. His fastball was mostly 84-85 mph consistently, getting up to 86 mph as well. It had some cutting action to it and he filled up the zone with it. He paired the fastball with a big 12-6 breaking curveball that had a sharp depth to it. It was his go-to out-pitch, locating it in the lower third or below the zone. He spun it up to 2225 RPMs and navigated through an extremely efficient outing on the mound. A right-handed hitter who keeps an even base with even feet. He uses toe-tap timing, coiling up in his load and unwinding as he rotates through the zone. There's speed in his hands and the swing stays connected as he uncoils and rotates through. He was able to create some leverage and get on plane with pitches to drive them. Showed intent in his actions, producing a 91 mph exit velocity during his round of BP. He also worked out as a primary catcher with a square setup behind the dish. He has a quick and athletic pop to make a quick transfer and get rid of the ball. It's a longer arm action with throws that were accurate to the bag. He threw 80 mph down to second with a 1.90 pop time. He also worked out as an infielder with a decent first step, getting to the ball with direct actions. He gets to a good position to field the ball, fields it and gathers. He throws across with carry and tons of strength, up to 90 mph on his throws. Very good student.
