Alonzo Rodriguez is a 2023 RHP with a 5-6 155 lb. frame from Berwyn, IL who attends J Sterling Morton West. Recorded an 8.69 second 60 yard dash time. Smaller frame and lean build. Primary right-handed pitcher that throws from a high three-quarters slot, utilizes a half turn to hide the ball and create some deception in the delivery. The fastball shows slight running action, developing control at present, was inconsistent with his command during this outing. Flashed a curveball with deep 12-6 shape, has vertical drop with limited bite. Secondary outfielder with a short arm action, fields it out front and gets the ball out quickly. Smaller gather and crow hop, was passive in his approach. Uphill thrower with developing arm strength at present. Right-handed hitter with a slightly open and crouched stance. Utilizes a high hand set and leg lift trigger, low intent swinger with limited lower half usage at present. Bat speed will improve as he continues to get stronger. Good student.
