Billy Dancy is a 2008 1B/P/OF with a 6'2'', 190 lb. frame from Newnan GA, who attends Newnan. Dancy has a good sized frame with a nice athletic build. Defensively, Dancy has solid actions fielding the ball at 1B and showed a good ability to pick balls in the dirt. He has nice hands and moves around the base well when receiving throws. At the plate, Dancy starts with an open stance and uses a toe tap trigger to start his swing. He takes an aggressive stride but tends to drift to contact instead of keeping his weight back. Dancy swings on a level path and looks to pull the ball. He has good raw strength and has some power potential as he learns to hit with more leverage and balance. Dancy pitches with a clean arm action and gets his arm through in his delivery. He has a slight across body delivery which helps him get good armside run on his fastball. Dancy is a good student.
