Alvin Thomas III is a 2029 1B/RHP/3B/OF/UT with a 5-4 140 lb. frame from Canton, MS who attends St. Andrew's Episcopal. Thomas worked from a range of defensive spots during his event, starting from the IF where he worked through the baseball well with max effort throws across the diamond up to 63 mph. He has plenty of time to refine the footwork as a '29 prospect. Reliable glove work continued at 1B with urgency to the release up to 60 mph. From the OF, Thomas attacked the ball effectively with a compact arm action to produce on-line throws up to 64 mph. On the mound, displayed short side step into a chest high leg lift with high 3/4 release. Clean hand break and repeatable mechanics overall, ultimately topping out at 70 mph. CB registered at 1622 rpm. Offensively, the righty started from an even base with a high hand set and high back elbow. Intent to create lift in the bat path with young strength in the hands. Further room to incorporate the lower half in the future. Ran a 9.63 sixty yard dash.
